In April 2020, the Donmar Warehouse assembled a group of young artists to explore and document the extraordinary experience of a nation in lockdown.

Led by director Thomas May Bailey, the company adapted theatre devising techniques for the age of Zoom, using The Decameron, a 14th-century text by Giovanni Boccaccio, as a starting point. What emerged from the workshops was a new community, who knew each other deeply as artists and as people, but who never met in real life.
